STORY:
Growing up in an artistic family, working as
a DJ and photographer for all of his professional
life, F.I.P. (Frank In Person) had to end
up doing something creative.
He never thought of singing though. That started at
the end of 2004.
Discovered in 2005 by Erwin Sjoerdsma from AT Productions, Frank (yes, his real name is Frank!)
now tours with an impressive tribute to Frank Sinatra
throughout the Netherlands and audiences
within Belgium, Germany, France, The Far
East and The Caribbean have discovered
him as well. The rest of the world pending…
“Is he lip-sinking?” A subject that often rises
during and after performances. Understandably
questioned, once you hear him sing. Cliff Stark, former trombonist of Sinatra in Las Vegas for years, recently spoke about F.I.P.: “ This Dutch singer is amazing ! That’s as close as anyone else I’ve heard!”
The Style…, The Voice…, he’s BACK!
F.I.P. (1966) is giving shows at all kinds of
events and parties. So far he performed in almost
every major Dutch TV program.

Important for F.I.P. was to record an album
with original material. The idea he came up
with was to mainly cover pop songs and convert
them into jazz. Songs put together that
“Ol' Blue Eyes” would have chosen, when
still among us. Only singing professionally
for a couple of years, he also wanted to wait
for the right moment. He wanted to grow
and learn more about singing before sticking
his neck out and say: “Hello world, here I am!”

Well, here he is and with the great help of
Arie Kuit, bandleader of The Skyline Orchestra,
he recorded seven pieces, with full orchestration. Recording an E.P. was the plan.
When two years later Alexander Beets from
Maxanter Productions discovered the recordings,
he became immediately enthusiastic about it.
But his opinion was to add more songs
and to go for a full album…
Alexander then arranged his both brothers,
bass player Marius Beets and pianist Peter Beets,
to accompany Frank and help him out with the
extra needed material. Five nice and small recordings,
with great depth and jazz feel...
The result is a good and more than interesting
cocktail of songs with a warm and voguish sound..
ENTERTAINMENT IS BACK with Frank In Person,
“steel blue and cocky!”
